Chicken and Noodles - Hotness in a Wok

We all love a simple yet delicious meal. What I love about this recipe is that you can just add whatever vegetables or protein you like. From chicken, to beef to tofu.

Just make sure to use an oil that is suitable for frying at high temperatures, like sesame oil.

This recipe will take about 20-30 minutes to prepare and is totally kids proof!


  • 600gr Chicken breast, chopped
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 250gr noodles (any kind will do)
  • 1 liter water
  • 1 Leeks, chopped
  • 100gr bean sprouts
  • 150gr chestnut mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbs chili sauce (hot or sweet, whatever your preference is)
  • 1 tbs sambal oelek
  • 1 tsp lemongrass
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp garlic chopped
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp dried cumin
  • 25ml coconut milk


Bring water to the boil and add the noodles. Keep them in the water until soft. Drain the noodles and set aside.

Pre-heat the wok, once hot add the sesame oil. Immediately add the chopped chicken and begin to stir frequently.  When almost done add all of the vegetables, keep stirring frequently.  Add all of the spices and herbs and coconut milk. Stir fry for about 2-3 minutes more and add the drained noodles. Mix all well together and eat up!
Add some extra chilli or sambal for that extra hotness 😉
