Shoulders boulders day!
This mornings workout was A W E S O M E. I went in had my music on I was focused and nothing could stop me from kicking azz.
I started with the classic barbell overhead shoulder press, to me this is one of the best upper body press exercises. Better than the bench press. There I said it. Before Monday became ‘International Bench Press day’ the Overhead Press was semi responsible for some of the best physiques in the world.
Just think of the image of a (fe-)male silhouette with a loaded barbell locked out overhead, it is a classic image of raw power and strength.
The overhead shoulder press works a lot of different muscles, not just the delts. It also works the traps, triceps, serrstus, the core muscles, lower back, glutes, and upper thighs. It improves overall stability and adds strength to the body. All of this when performed with proper form.
Trust your body and always use proper form, always.
Breakdown Get Strong AF #12:
- Barbell Overhead Shoulder Press 5×10
- Superset 4 sets
- Lateral Raise 10 reps
- Alternating Front Raise 10 each arm
- Face Pulls 4×6-8
- Seated Dumbbell Press 4×4-6
- Single-arm Linear Jammer 3×10 each arm
- Shoulder Press Machine (because the cables were occupied) 3×4-6
- Cable Rear Delt Fly 4×4-6
