Today I didn’t have much time to hit the gym. As usual. So I decided to stick to just the compound movements and not do anything extra. Chillax, no harm done I still got my sweat on!
I have mentioned in the first Get Strong AF workout that my goal is not to lose weight but to gain lots of strength. So doing compound exercises and increasing the weights per workout is and excellent way to get to my goals. I have trained like this before and in no time I leg pressed 300kg (660lbs) for 3 sets, 8 reps er set with a bodyweight of 58kg (127lbs). Not bad for a shorty.
I feel that I am getting stronger again. Today I used a dumbbell of 22,5kg (49.5lb) to do the bent over dumbbell row, my starting weight was 16kg (35.2lbs) just a few weeks ago. Progress!!
Breakdown of today’s kickazz workout:
- Barbell Squats 5×5
- Close Grip Bench Press 5×5
- Lat Pulldown 5×6-8
- Bent over Dumbbell Row 5×6-8 (each arm)
