If your’re looking for a delicious meatball recipe then look no further. I made these babies yesterday and the were a big hit! Just a little warning.. I did not use any breadcrumbs or eggs in this recipe (I’m such a rebel) instead I used milk.. yup milk. A splash of milk does wonders! Take a look below, try them and enjoy!
- 700 gr extra lean ground beef
- 3 red onions chopped
- 3 tbs parsley, I used dried because I just cannot stand the smell of freshly cut parsley!!!
- 2 tsp Himalayan salt
- 2 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 tsp paprika powder
- 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 1 small head of garlic, peeled and chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 20 ml milk, any kind will do
- oil or butter to fry
- 3 cans diced tomatoes
- 1 tsp sambal
Put the beef in a big bowl, add the onions, parsley, garlic, and the other seasoning, mix it all together. Add the milk to the mixture, the mixture should be very moist but still hold its shape if rolled into meatballs.
Heat the oil (or butter) in a large skillet or casserole. Fry the meatballs in batches. When the meatballs are a bit brown add the cans of diced tomatoes and sambal. Bring to a boil then lower the heat to medium and let it cook for about an hour. Have a taste, if you want it spicier add some more sambal or cayenne, I usually do because I love spicy food!
I made this for a tapas evening with my besties but of course this goes perfectly with spaghetti, duh.
If there are any leftovers just put it in the freezer to eat another
