Shrimp Kebabs

The kids and I were in the mood for kebabs today. Instead of the usual meat we decided to use shrimp! With this recipe I minimized the different types of seasoning. I kept it simple with the most basic ones; salt, black pepper and garlic. Simple is best!


  • 24 king size shrimp raw, peeled
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 yellow bell pepper chopped
  • 1 red onion peeled and chopped
  • 1 yellow onion peeled and chopped
  • 2 tbs sesame oil
  • 2 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • Wooden skewers
  • Lime or lemon


Soak the skewers in water for about 15 minutes.

Put the shrimp in a bowl, add one tbs of sesame oil, 1 tsp minced garlic, 1 tsp Himalayan salt and 1 tsp black pepper. Use another bowl for the veggies, add the rest of the seasoning and oil and mix well.

Assemble the kebabs and grill them on the bbq, in the oven (200°C / 400F) or in a grill pan for about 8-10 minutes on each side.

When the kebabs are finished sprinkle some lime or lemon on them and serve immediately.
